We were blessed with early morning fog, overcast skies and a light powdering of dew on the entire Scottish links golf course to embrace the AGTs third major of the 1997 schedule. We couldnt have hoped for a more suitable setting then what the golf lords shared with us that day. The fog rolled off the course by late morning and the wind picked up to make an already rigorous course indomitable. For those members who do not have a chip and run game in their repertoire may have found Orchard Hills greens to be slightly firm, not to mention, quick. Although the Scottish links course dominated most, there are always a few AGT members that prevail and like most great golf events this one unfolded like a deck of cards in a game of 52 pickup. The ace was clearly dealt and Roger Moore seized his first recorded major and second 1st place finish of the year.

A little bit of information on the GSGA handicap service.
Matthew Freeman, AGT President, visited the headquarters of the GSGA to meet with Director of Member Services Martha Kirouac. The purpose of the meeting was to provide USGA handicap services to the AGT. The GSGA was thrilled with the AGTs direction and structure. All in all it was a great meeting and the AGT will benefit from this change. Information in regards to the handicaps will be posted in the news release as soon as it reaches the AGT.
