AGT News Release

The Quad City Vacation, I Mean Classic.

The pairings that we presented to the pro shop showed 16 members, however only 9 actually played in the tournament. Fortunately the Lake Spivey G.C. employees were very cooperative with the Atlanta Golf Tour and sent the tour out on the course in three groups of three. Although the field of players were limited the competition was closely nit, and a new member emerged from an unknown status on tour to one of the leading players over night. Jim Coughlin made his debut at the U.S. Open at Hamilton Mill when he decided he was going to cart up with some of our members. That day the luck of Ireland was with us all, and the AGT had a diamond in the rough. Coughlin, familiar with tournament play has been a threat to all members since. Jim played superb and captured his first tour event.
