Brent Featherstone wins the North Georgia Open in sudden death, Chris Trussell takes second.

Emerald Point Golf Club at Lake Lanier Islands was the site of the 1997 North Georgia Open, the AGT’s fourth major of the season. As the 1997 season comes to a close the pressures to win an event, not to mention a major, becomes more difficult. One AGT member on tour finally broke out and showed his true colors on Sunday when he posted a net 66 at, what some would say is, a pretty difficult golf course. Brent Featherstone became a member early in the 1997 season and was favored to win several AGT tournaments, however, he never exhibited his A+ game until Sunday. Brent’s golf game has ultimately developed into post season form and he should remain a threat for the duration of the year.

Growth is critical in providing better competition for AGT members.

The AGT’s membership is on the rise thanks to existing members and word of mouth. The long term commitment the AGT has made to promoting growth is critical in providing better competition and prizes for all members. Our organization will welcome all golfers who enjoy competing to the final putt while upholding the rules and etiquette of this great game.

Greens in regulation leaders show interesting tour trend.

11 of 12 AGT events were won by the top six leaders in greens in regulation. This trend proves accuracy on your approach shot becomes critical in winning events. A good part of your practice should involve range practice from 30 yards to 175 yards to increase your chances to win.
