The Trophy Club at Apalachee held the AGC Championship August 17, 1998 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Thanks to a great staff the Championship was without a doubt the most successful event of the year. The AGC would like to thank the 13 new players for joining us at our very special Major. Scott Mitchell, a new member, played great and finished second. Good job Scott and we hope to see you at our Four-Ball Championship September 27. However the attention deserves to be given to Jim Kamis. Jim had a great round and secured his place as a 1998 AGC Major winner. Jim won a great looking trophy and a $100 gift certificate along with a Gatorade Golf shirt, compliments of Gatorade our club sponsor. Congratulations Jim, hope to see you again. | ![]() Matt Freeman, presents Jim Kamis with The 1998 AGC Championship Trophy. |

We will add the member discount for each Club as soon as we get our Discount Book published. A list of our Scheduled Tournaments along with the rules and fees for each. You can enter the tournament on line or print an entry form, which can be mailed or faxed to us. We also list directions to the Club where each Tournament will be played. A list of Prizes which we are offering for our next Tournament to the first fifteen finishers. A page for each tournament where we display pictures and comments from that tournament. We also have a special page where we feature pictures of all of our Tournament Champions. A directory with Key information about most Golf Courses in the State of Georgia. We also give detailed directions to each course. We offer points (skins) for playing in our Tournaments. The higher you finish the more you win. We also offer skins for bringing new members to us. We have a page where you may view the complete skins standings for all members. These skins may be redeemed for valuable golf prizes. A section where you can find a golf partner for our next tournament or for your next golf outing. There is a form here where you can sign up to be listed on this page. You can also register to be notified by e-mail any time a new feature, Tournament or event is added to our site. |

Joke of The Month
It was a sunny Saturday morning, and Joe was beginning his pre-shot routine, visualizing his upcoming shot when a voice came over the clubhouse loudspeaker - "Would the gentleman on the Ladies tee please back up to the men's tee, please!"
Joe was still deep in his routine, seemingly impervious to the interruption. Again the announcement - "Would the man on the women's tee kindly back up to the men's tee!"
Joe had had enough. He shouted, "Would the announcer in the clubhouse kindly shut up and let me play my second shot!"
"Would the gentleman on the Ladies tee back up to the men's tee, please!"
AGC Golf Tip| "Maintaining your balance in golf requires control over
where the body's weight is placed at any point before or during the golf swing." I am certain that you have slipped during the golf swing at one time or another. You probably hit a very poor shot. It was probably obvious to everyone that you just slipped. An easy shot to explain. However, did you ever consider that you may be actually slipping on all your shots or most of your shots? Did you ever think that a slight loss of balance at various points during the swing could be responsible for some of your worst shots? It can! Improper balance during the setup or improper weight shift during the backswing and the downswing can cause a variety of problems. Check your balance! Get it right! It will give the rest of the swing a chance to happen. |

Gatorade "Life is a sport drink it up"
| Gatorade® Thirst Quencher is more than just a cool bottle to have in your
hands after the game. It's a product that works. And understanding how it works and where
it comes from is an important part of learning how you can train better and perform better
when you play your hardest. Dehydration can occur in as little as 30 minutes during
rigorous exercise and will hamper performance, especially in the heat. The American College of Sports Medicine encourages frequent drinking before, during, and after training or competition to prevent dehydration and heat stress. Know the warning signs of dehydration: dizziness and light-headedness; muscle cramps; nausea and headache; dehydration can cause a dangerous increase in body temperature leading to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The AGC is proud to announce Gatorade as its official sponsor. |
